Dave Detwiler’s name has been synonymous with the best in trumpet performance and education since he made his home in the DC area in the 1970s.
His professional resume on both sides of the horn--classical and jazz--is pages long and too much to list here.
Suffice to say, a guy who has toured the world with the Army Blues, played with the NSO under Slatkin, performed for six different presidents, etc. knows what he's doing.
With decades of playing accolades, he still says education is his life's work and passion. We are honored to have Dave teaching under our roof at Vanguard.

30 minute lessons—$45.00/lesson
45 minute lessons—$67.50/lesson
60 minute lessons—$90.00/lesson
We keep a card on file and bill your account on the 1st of the month, for all of the lessons in that month.

We do all of our private trumpet lessons in our studio located in Chantilly, VA. Our state-of-the-art facility provides a dedicated learning environment designed to foster a strong sense of community, access to top-tier equipment, and a focused learning atmosphere.
