Mayson Rangel is a multi-instrumentalist born and raised in Alexandria, Virginia, who leverages years of experience in special needs therapy and clinical mental health to deliver a teaching experience rooted in psychological training. While his principal instrument is bass, Mayson has over 10 years of experience playing drums, guitar, bass, concert percussion, and keys, gigging all across the DMV. Mayson also has a wide and deep musical knowledge. Be it the decades and evolutions of jazz, rock, gospel, funk, rap, the various subgenres of EDM, 19th century wind ensemble composers, or the evolving landscape of K-Pop, Mayson has likely heard whatever his students are listening to. More eclectically, as a an avid video game music lover, he is at the forefront of a growing video game music scene as the active operations manager and house-band bassist for a local video game music jam organization.
