Jeff Martin’s professional career began at the University of North Texas in 1992. While at UNT, he performed for three years with the Grammy-nominated One O’Clock Lab Band, touring throughout the United States, Japan, and Hong Kong. His trombone playing, compositions, and arrangements can be heard on five recordings with the band.
In 1996, Jeff joined the U.S. Air Force Airmen of Note as second trombonist, a position he held for 24 years until his retirement from the Air Force in 2021. During his tenure, he performed and toured extensively and recorded 19 albums, including A Holiday Note from Home, Out in Front, Compositions, Tiempo Latino, and Global Reach. His compositions and arrangements have been recorded and performed by the Airmen of Note, the UNT One O’Clock Lab Band, Southern Illinois University, Sam Houston State University, and numerous high school and collegiate ensembles throughout the country.
Jeff has also performed at major jazz festivals including Monterey, Detroit, San Jose, Atlanta, Hartford, and Pensacola. His performance credits also include the Dallas Jazz Orchestra, Pete Peterson’s Collection, the Ben Patterson Jazz Orchestra, and the Alan Baylock Jazz Orchestra. Throughout his career, he has performed with many of the leading figures in jazz, including Herbie Hancock, Joe Lovano, David Liebman, Slide Hampton, Gerry Mulligan, Clark Terry, Phil Woods, Peter Erskine, Kenny Barron, Branford Marsalis, Randy Brecker, Jerry Bergonzi, and many others.
A dedicated educator and clinician, Jeff has spent more than 25 years presenting clinics and masterclasses throughout the United States and internationally. He brings his extensive experience as a performer, composer, and arranger to his teaching, helping students develop strong fundamentals, musicianship, improvisational skills, and an individual musical voice.
Originally from Newton, Kansas, Jeff holds a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies/Performance from the University of North Texas and a Master of Music in Jazz Studies/Composition from Rowan University.

Weekly Lessons
30 minute lessons—$45.00/lesson
45 minute lessons—$67.50/lesson
60 minute lessons—$90.00/lesson
We keep a card on file and bill your account on the 1st of the month, for all of the lessons in that month. For example, if you have four 30 minute lessons scheduled in May, you will be charged $180.00 ($45 x 4 lessons) on May 1st.
