Jack Philipoom
he/him
Jack Philipoom grew up in Richmond, VA, where his love of music began at an early age. He started guitar at 14, and his passion for music soon led him to pursue formal study, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Music from George Mason University in 2017. Wanting to focus more on how music shapes young learners, Jack continued his education at Boston University, where he earned a Master’s degree in Music Education with a concentration in Early Childhood Music in 2022.
Jack is especially passionate about introducing children to music in ways that spark creativity, joy, and curiosity. He believes that early exposure to music builds not only musical skills but also confidence, imagination, and a lifelong appreciation for the arts. In addition to his early childhood work, he also teaches guitar and enjoys helping students of all ages explore different styles of music, from jazz and blues to indie and rock. He encourages his students to improvise, experiment, and even write their own songs as a way to connect more deeply with music.
Currently based in the DMV area, Jack teaches and performs with a variety of groups, always striving to share his love of music with his community.
