How it works:

Vanguard has three recording spaces wired for pro audio—a rehearsal space, an editing suite, and a full 16 track recording studio. For Drive Thru Demo Day, each space will be staffed with an engineer to facilitate.

Each band participating will start by laying down basic tracks in the rehearsal space for their first hour.

Once they’re done cutting basic tracks, each band will move to our editing suite, to perform any punch-ins, edits, etc. during their second hour.

For the last hour of their experience, each band will move to our recording studio control room to mix and master their single.

Equipment

All drummers must use our backline bass drum and toms but must bring their own snare and cymbals. Drums may opt to bring their own kick pedal and throne.

  • Pearl EXR drumset with 22 inch kick and 8, 10, 12, 14, and 16 inch toms (maximum 3 toms at a time)

All bassists should expect to use our backline amplifier and cabinet, but may bring their own effects pedals.

  • Dark Glass Alpha Omega 900 amp

  • Ported David Eden 2x10 Cabinet

  • Ported Ampeg 4x10 Cabinet

Guitarists may bring their own amps our use our backline amps.

  • Fender Champion 40 watt combo amp

  • VOX Valvetronix 30 watt combo amp.

Vocalists may bring their own micraphones our use ours.

  • Shure SM58 mic (up to 5)

If any members of the band are under 18, parent/guardian contact information must be provided at the time of registration for each member under 18.
