Brian Almeter has played trumpet for 40+ years. A native of Northern Virginia, he studied with area teachers such as Neil Stalnaker, David Detwiler, and Doug Elliot. He has a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies and Trumpet from Indiana University, where he studied with David Baker, Bernie Adelstein, Edmund Cord, Dominic Spera, and William Adam. Brian has performed internationally on cruise ships and jazz festivals, and regionally from local bars to the Kennedy Center. He has also been a music copyist for the Smithsonian Jazz Masterworks Orchestra with David Baker.
Brian believes you need to be versatile to be a successful musician and has played in all types of ensembles from traditional jazz to classical orchestral ensembles.
Brian has taught private lessons in Northern Virginia for over 20 years. His approach to teaching is to focus on the fundamentals and music that his students enjoy playing. Crafting the physical aspects of playing a brass instrument, the devotion required to excel, with learning the joy of playing music.
He is currently coaching with the George Mason University‘s Green Machine Pep Band and performing with the Braddock Road Brass Band.

Weekly Lessons
30 minute lessons—$45.00/lesson
45 minute lessons—$67.50/lesson
60 minute lessons—$90.00/lesson
We keep a card on file and bill your account on the 1st of the month, for all of the lessons in that month. For example, if you have four 30 minute lessons scheduled in May, you will be charged $180.00 ($45 x 4 lessons) on May 1st.

We do all of our private brass lessons in our studio located in Chantilly, VA. Our state-of-the-art facility provides a dedicated learning environment designed to foster a strong sense of community, access to top-tier equipment, and a focused learning atmosphere.
